Detained Premium Times Journalist Has Been Released

The Premium Times writer, who was captured by FSARS since Tuesday, August 14, has been discharged.

He was liberated on Friday morning, August 17 after allowed safeguard by judge Abdulwahab Mohammed of the Kubwa Grade 1 Magistrate Court in Kubwa, Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

A report by Premium Times said that the justice initially heard the case on Wednesday, August 15 after Mr. Ogundipe was covertly summoned without being permitted lawful portrayal.

On that day, Magistrate Mohammed conceded a demand by the police that the writer be confined for five days until August 20.

Notwithstanding, on Friday morning, the news outlet learned Ogundipe was to be taken to a similar court. The organization's attorney, Jiti Ogunye was therefore present at the court.

At the court, Ogunye contended for the safeguard of Ogundipe, a demand that was not contradicted by the police advise.

Officer Mohammed allowed the safeguard in the aggregate of N500,000 and a surety who must be occupant inside the court's locale.
