Lewandowsky Scores Hat-trick As Bayern Win German Super Cup

Bayern Munich beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 to hold the German Super Cup, with Robert Lewandowski scoring a cap trap.

The Poland striker, 29, scored with two first-half headers and finished the treble with a savage left-footed shot 10 minutes after the break.

Kingsley Coman and Thiago Alcantara adjusted off the scoring.

It was a retribution of sorts for Bayern, who were beaten 3-1 by Frankfurt in last season's German Cup last.

Lewandowski's future at Bayern has been the subject of significant theory this mid year, yet director Niko Kovac has said the club "absolutely won't let him clear out".

Bayern don't start their Bundesliga safeguard until 24 August when they have Hoffenheim.

Prior to that they confront Drochtersen/Assel in the German Cup on 18 August, while Frankfurt travel to Ulm in a similar rivalry.
