Man released after spending 27 years in prison for crime he didn’t commit in Rivers

A Nigerian man who went through 27 years in jail for a wrongdoing he didn't submit before he was discharged in Rivers State, has required a change in the legal framework in the nation.

The 57-year-old Nigerian man who was recognized as Clinton Kanu was captured at 30 years old, and was sentenced for homicide in 1992 and remanded in Port Harcourt Maximum Prisons.

His allure against the lower court judgment was delayed gradually, however inevitably he got to the Supreme Court of Nigeria where he got cleared of the homicide accusation on the fifth April, 2019.
