NBC Shuts Down AIT, Ray Power

The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on Thursday night suspended the permit of Dar Communication Plc, the administrator of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Ray Power until radio station further notice.

The Director-General of NBC, Modibbo Kawu declared the shutdown.

He said the move was made for disappointment of the telecom station to submit to the telecom code.

He said a portion of the offenses the stations submitted incorporated the airing of a Presidential decision narrative by the AIT, an issue pending before a council; the failure of the organization to pay its charges, the utilization of "troublesome and impelling substance from the online networking," and others.
