
A mishap including an Iveco truck, stamped SRA 757 XA, and a Bajaj cruiser, inverse Egba High School, Obantoko street, Abeokuta saw two people squashed to death on Thursday.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the representative, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), affirmed the episode to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Akinbiyi clarified that the mishap happened when the cruiser rider was surpassing the truck.
He noticed that five individuals were associated with the mishap however two people, who were travelers on the cruiser, kicked the bucket on the spot.
"Onlooker affirmed that the motorcyclist surpassed wrongly and slammed into a moving truck. The cruiser and the truck were advancing toward Obantoko, Moore intersection.
"The truck driver, trying to maintain a strategic distance from a pothole, swerved to one side, not realizing that the okada rider was quick drawing closer from the back, before it slammed into the truck.
"The driver of the truck, his engine kid and the Okada rider fled however the two travelers on the cruiser kicked the bucket.
"The truck and the cruiser associated with the mishap have been taken to the Divisional Police Station, Obantoko," he said.
Akinbiyi noticed that the carcasses of the expired had been saved at the mortuary of General Hospital, Ijaye in Abeokuta.
