Nigerian Singer, Tuesday Cruise bags jail sentence over ‘yahoo yahoo’

A 25-year-old Port Harcourt based artist, Gagiyouwe ThankGod a.k.a Tuesday Cruise has packed away a six months prison sentence in the wake of being charged before Justice A.T. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on a one tally charge.

The charge against the artist captured by agents of the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, peruses;

"That you, Gagiyouwe Pal Thankgod (nom de plume Chris Henry) approximately the eleventh day of July 2019, in Nigeria inside the ward of this good Court, deceitfully imitated one Chris Henry by utilizing his email [email protected] the goal to acquire cash, property or any favorable position from one John Smith and other clueless people, the affectation you knew to be false and subsequently perpetrated an offense in opposition to Section 22 (2 ) (b) (ii) and (iii) of Cyber Crimes (arrangement, anticipation, and so forth) Act, 2015 and culpable under Section 22 (2) (b) (iv) of a similar Act."

Tuesday Cruise was indicted and condemned him to a half year detainment with a choice of fine of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) just, after he conceded to the charge. An announcement from the EFCC peruses to a limited extent;

"Thankgod, a 25-year-old performer with the stage name "Tuesday Cruise" was summoned on July 24, 2019, by the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a one-check charge.

He argued "blameworthy" to the charge, and in perspective on his supplication, counsel for the EFCC, Adebayo Soares asked the court to convict and sentence him in like manner.

Equity Mohammed, from that point, indicted and condemned him to a half year detainment with an alternative of fine of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) as it were.

His voyage to jail started on July 11, 2019, when he was captured along Edet Akpan Avenue (Four Lanes) in Uyo by agents of the Commission, following knowledge report.
