Senator Abbo pleads not guilty, granted N5million bail


Senior Magistrate Abdullahi Ilellah has allowed safeguard to Senator Elisha Abbo in the aggregate of N5million and two sureties in like whole who must include undeniable locations inside the Federal Capital Territory.

The case has since been suspended to July 22nd for hearing.

Representative Abbo was charged on Monday on a one-tally of attack to which he argued not blameworthy. He was summoned by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police at Zuba Magistrate Court, Abuja after a video of him striking a lady turned into a web sensation.

Representative Abbo has been in the eye of a tempest for assaulting and pounding a lady who attempted to keep him and others with him from striking another lady in a sex toy shop in Abuja. The viral video of the attack started shock with numerous Nigerians requiring his arraignment.

Abbo has since affirmed to that he is in reality the man in the video and that he will discharge an announcement soon in such manner. In the mean time, the Nigerian Senate has set up a specially appointed advisory group to research the case. Six men and two ladies were picked as individuals from the board which will be going by Senator Sam Egwu.
