Six Facebook hackers jailed in Calabar (Photos)

On Thursday, September 26, 2019, 6 Facebook Hackers were indicted and condemned to one year detainment each, with a choice of fine of Five hundred thousand naira (N500,000.00).

The convicts are; Lawrence Nnamdi-Mba Ebesike, Prince E. Udeh, Chijioke Victor, Promise Odimba, Ugbor Ifeanyi and Prince Anthony. They were summoned on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 on independent one-check charge, verging on pantomime and misrepresentation, under the steady gaze of a similar court and they all argued "blameworthy".

In perspective on their requests, the indictment counsel, Usman Shehu, educated the court regarding the supplication deal understandings entered and executed by the arraignment and the guard. The issue was from that point suspended to September 26, 2019, for conviction and sentence while the convicts were remanded in Afokang jail, Calabar.

“I am into internet fraud. Part of how I operate is, I edit Facebook accounts, go to google and search for pictures of United State military personnel. I download some of these pictures and put them on the newly created facebook accounts. After doing that, I target foreigners, mostly old white women who are in need of men. I stay online all day trying to befriend them. After convincing them, I will make them apply for my leave so that I can see them”, Ebesike confessed.

One of the charges peruses, "That you Ebesike Lawrence Nnamdi 'm' approximately the eleventh day of July, 2019 in Nigeria inside the purview of this Honorable Court did deceitfully mimic one Cheng Chin Kiu,a implied United Nations Army to one Chunn Kang who dwells in United States with goal to acquire cash from the said Chunn Kang, a guise you knew to be false and subsequently carried out an offense in opposition to Section 22 (2) (b) (ii) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition and Prevention, and so on) Act, 2015 and culpable under Section 22 (2) (b) (iv) of a similar Act."

Another charge peruses, "That you Enyinnaya Prince Udeh (Alias Palacio Olivia) 'm' approximately the 30th day of August, 2019 in Nigeria inside the locale of this Honorable Court did deceitfully mimic one Palacio Olivia with goal to acquire cash, property or any preferred position from clueless exploited people, the affectation you knew to be false and in this way carried out an offense as opposed to Section 22 (2) (b) (ii) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, and so forth) Act, 2015 and culpable under Section 22 (2) (b) (iv) of a similar Act."
