Seven arrested for stealing five-year-old in Imo


A seven-man kid taking syndicate have been captured by the Imo State Police Command for purportedly snatching a five-year-old youngster, Godday Obi.

The captured suspects were recognized as 39-year-old Nkechi Iroegbu, Chukwudi Ndukwe and Edu Akpan of No.102 Elelenwo road Port Harcourt; Chinwendu Uzonwu, 39, of Oba in Anambra state; Chinyeaka Gregory, 50, of number 11 Boundary Road Umungasi Aba, Abia State; Chidinma Ekwundu, 49, from Awka in Anambra state and Eucharia Onwuduba, 46, of number 31 Aniekwe road, Fegge Onitsha, Anambra state.

Affirming the capture, Imo State's Police Spokesperson Orlando Ikeokwu said the suspects were busted through a planned activity dependent on a trustworthy insight.

He further revealed that Nkechi Iroegbu drove agents of the Anti-capturing Unit of the direction to the safehouse where different individuals from the syndicate were captured.

Ikeokwu said;

"On January 12, the order got a report of a taken youngster, one Godday Obi, 5 years of age, at Umuejechi, Nekede, Owerri West LGA of Imo state.

"Following up on that report, the direction's Anti-capturing unit got the ball rolling and upon sound data, captured one Nkechi Iroegbu, 39, a local of Akoli Imenyi, Bende LGA, Abia state. She admitted to the wrongdoing.

"They all admitted to their different jobs and drove the agents to the recuperation of the taken kid"

He additionally uncovered that the Commissioner of Police, Olaniyi Fafowaro guided the researching group to arraign the suspects toward the finish of the examination procedure.
