NAPS PRESIDENCY
PRESS RELEASE!!!
The leadership of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) stand against and condemn the proposed shutdown of all Institutions in Oyo State by the NANS/JCC Oyo Axis under the leadership of Comrade Opakan.
Respect to the lingering issue on the gateway charges on students portal within the state, the NANS/JCC Oyo State should consider round table dialogue as a lasting solution rather than shutting down the Institutions across the state.
It's not a news to anyone on the inevitable effect of pandemic, coupled with ASUU strike on the academic activities. The institutions across the country are on the recovery process to have a balance and stable academic calendar. Hence, any approach or strategy at the detriment of academic activities in this present state is completely absurd and out of content if protecting student interest remains priority.
It's on this note, the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) give undiluted and sagacious accolade the Student Union Government of The Polytechnic, Ibadan and other NANS/JCC Executives on their stand to separate themselves from the proposed protest.
NAPS urge the State Government to call for a meeting in response to the need of the students as a matter of urgency to avoid academic interruption and foster peaceful environment.
