"Correct Me When I Am Wrong" — New Chief Imam of Ilorin Calls for Sincere Advice and Support

The newly inaugurated Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani, has urged Muslims to always stand for truth, honesty, and righteousness.

During his first Friday Khutbah as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, the respected scholar expressed gratitude to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the royal family, his teachers, and the wider Muslim community for their trust and support.

Sheikh Dasuki emphasized that his appointment should not be seen as evidence that he is the most knowledgeable or pious person in Ilorin, but as a responsibility and favour granted by Allah.

In a remarkable display of humility, he appealed to the Muslim Ummah to offer him sincere counsel whenever he falls short.

"I am not perfect. Whenever you see me making a mistake, guide me back to what is right. Your prayers, advice, and cooperation will help me fulfil this responsibility successfully," he said.

The Chief Imam also prayed for the Emir of Ilorin, the Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, and Nigeria, asking Allah to grant them peace, prosperity, and divine protection.

May Allah guide our leaders, strengthen our scholars, and keep us all firm upon the truth.
