Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Ado Ekiti alongside eight governors and other top leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party’s mega rally ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, landed at Ado Ekiti Airport at about 12:41 pm aboard a Nigerian Air Force aircraft with registration number 5N-FGW.
The Vice President was received by the Ekiti State Governor and APC governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji; his deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and other party leaders.
The governors who accompanied the Vice President included Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe) and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).
Shortly after his arrival, Shettima paid a courtesy visit to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, before proceeding to the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado Ekiti, where he and the governors held a parley with traditional rulers from across the state.
Also at the meeting were former Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; former Governor Niyi Adebayo; former Ekiti State Governor Segun Oni; Senator Dayo Adeyeye; Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin; APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele; Senator Olamilekan Adeola; Senator Yemi Adaramodu; Senator Cyril Fasuyi; members of the APC National Working Committee and other party stalwarts.
