38 dead, 200 houses destroyed in Katsina flood

He stated: "I went there to see things for myself; I have never observed such a catastrophic event as large as what occurred in Jibia. Inhabitants couldn't rescue anything; the surge is more than 10 feet down, there was seepage but since of the overwhelming deluge, the wastes that would have discharged into the primary stream were beaten back by the waterway; 20 individuals are still unaccounted for, including a two-day-old lady of the hour."
