Cholera Outbreak: Yobe Records 906 Fresh Cases, 61 Deaths

The administration Yobe state, says 906 new instances of cholera have been recorded in the state with 61 passings while 50 others are still on affirmation in doctor's facilities over the state. 

Yobe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammad Kawuwa, who put forth the divulgence in an announcement in Damaturu, said Acute Water Diarrhea (AWD) cases were accounted for in a few sections of the state. 

Kawuwa said it was later affirmed to be cholera after research center tests, taking note of that a portion of the AWD cases were caused by Vibrio microscopic organisms, which causes cholera. 

The Commissioner clarified that 906 cases were recorded in six chambers of the state including Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, Fune, Potiskum and Nangere in two months. 

He stated, "More than 795 patients were effectively treated and released, 50 are still on confirmation in different wellbeing offices over the state."
