
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) board will on Thursday meet and screen every presidential wannabe on its stage in front of the 2019 general decisions.
The 12-man board, which is going by Senator Walid Jibrin, is relied upon to initially meet with the wannabes toward the beginning of the day of Thursday before welcoming the competitors for the screening.
Sources inside the BoT told Punch on Monday that all the 13 presidential applicants had been reached for the screening.
The competitors are a previous Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal; Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo; a previous Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso; and a previous Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa.
Others said to have been welcomed are President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; a previous President of the Senate, David Mark; a previous Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations, Tanimu Turaki (SAN); a previous Governor of Plateau State, Jona Jang; and a previous Governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi.
Others expected at the gathering are a previous Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido; Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed and Usifo Stanley.
Brief News accumulated that the wannabes would be induced to have gatherings among themselves and check whether they could concede to an accord applicant.
BoT director, Jibril disclosed to Punch that the board would meet with the wannabes.
He stated: "We will meet them on Thursday in Abuja, yet I won't disclose to you the area.
"We are conversing with the hopefuls and I have trust that they will all cooperate for the advancement of our gathering which will make us win the presidential decision in 2019."
