Salah Deserved Puskas Award But My Goal Was Better – Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo says the overhead bike kick he scored for Real Madrid against his flow club Juventus last season was superior to anything Mohamed Salah's which was granted the Fifa objective of the year. 

"Salah had the right to win the Puskas grant, it was a decent objective. However, let's be realistic, how about we not mislead ourselves, my objective was the best," Ronaldo told his 142 million Instagram adherents. 

The 33-year-old Portuguese star missed out to previous Real Madrid colleague Luka Modric for the Fifa best player grant and to Liverpool's Salah for the Puskas Award for the best objective. 

Salah won the honor for his twisting strike against Everton in the Premier League in December. 

"I'm not baffled, life is that way, once in a while you win and others lose, what intrigues me is that in 15 years of profession I figured out how to keep up similar levels of execution," Ronaldo said. 

"Honors are grants… I as of now have a great deal. I play to win and not to win grants." 

Five days after the honors function in London — which he didn't go to — five-time Ballon d'Or champ Ronaldo hailed his previous Real partner, saying: "Congrats to everybody, to Modric, best player of the year as indicated by Fifa." 

Ronaldo scored his aerobatic objective in the Champions League quarter-finals against Juventus before joining the Serie A goliaths only months after the fact.
