Asuu Chairman Detained

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (Asuu) says agents of the Department of State Services (DSS) have confined the association's director in Bauchi state. 

Vice chairman of the association at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Dr Ibrahim Maina, claimed that Dr Adamu Babayo was kept on Sunday, when he was welcome to the division's base camp in Bauchi. 

"the Asuu Chairman, Adamu Babayo was welcomed through a Short Service Message (SMS) which is certifiably not a formal method for welcome," Maina said at a question and answer session on Sunday. 

"On Friday he got an instant message asking for him to answer to the DSS office in Bauchi on Sunday. He went to the workplace together with a portion of the officials of the affiliation. 

"The DSS agents asked for different individuals from his escort to leave and confined him in their office." 

He additionally stated, "Given them a chance to disclose to us why he was confined. That will give us what should be finished. 

"On the off chance that the detainment is regarding the progressing strike; it is an across the nation strike set out on by the colleges in the nation and not a particular or individual issue. 

"What wrong have we done by squeezing for our rights through the strike." 

Yet, a source in the security equip denied the claim. 

The authority demanded that Babayo was not confined but rather welcomed to answer a few inquiries. 

Instructors in government-possessed colleges had on 5 November left on an uncertain strike to press for usage of an assention came to with the central government.
