Asuu, FG To Continue Meeting Next Week

Transactions between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (Asuu) and a government assignment will proceed one week from now, the association's leader has said. 

The initiative of Asuu and government authorities continued chats on Thursday over the continuous across the country strike set out on by speakers in state funded colleges. 

Asuu initiated the strike activity on Monday, November 5, to squeeze home its requests for development in the subsidizing of state funded colleges in Nigeria. 

Talking after Thursday's gathering in Abuja, the association's leader, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said that his group and the legislature's had yet to finish up dialogs. 

He at that point said that they would meet again one week from now, without expressing the correct day, for further transactions. 

On his part, the Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige, communicated good faith that the talks would prompt the suspension of the strike. 

A portion of the association's requests include: installment of earned recompense; subsidizing of revitalisation of the Nigerian colleges, usage of requirements evaluation report, and poor financing of state colleges.
