Buhari Appoints New High Commissioner To South Africa

Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama presenting letter of credence to the new Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa, Kabiru Bala in AbujaPresident Muhammadu Buhari has named Ambassador Kabiru Bala as new High Commissioner to South Africa, with simultaneous accreditation to Swaziland and Lesotho. This was uncovered in an announcement by Ms. Sarah Sanda, the Special Assistant on Media to Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, on Monday in Abuja. Sanda expressed that the clergyman introduced the letter of confidence to the new envoy on Monday in Abuja. She included that before his arrangement, Bala was Deputy High Commissioner to the UK. A lifelong ambassador, Amb. Bala joined the Foreign Service in 1999 and had at various occasions served in Brasilia, Sudan, The Gambia, Netherlands and Thailand. He additionally served in the State House Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, and additionally State House Protocol. Bala will supplant Ahmed Ibeto, the previous Ambassador who surrendered his arrangement in July to join the Peoples Democratic Party.
