Congo Emerges Contender To Host 2019 Afcon

The Confederation of African Football has uncovered that Congo Brazzaville has risen as a solid contender to have the 2019 revamped Africa Cup of Nations. 

Addressing Radio France International, CAF VP, Constant Omari, additionally said that the dossier of Guinea, has assign of the 2023 release, does not exist. 

Omari stated: "Congo Brazzaville has written to arrange (2019). 

"Our (CAF) secretary-general, Anthony Baffoe, disclosed to me that he would let me know of a second competitor." 

Morocco is generally viewed as the most loved to go up against the competition which was detracted from Cameroon due to delays with arrangements and security concerns. 

Omari, notwithstanding, played down the Moroccan intrigue. 

"Authoritatively, no demonstration of candidature has been kept with CAF," he said. 

The choice to dump Cameroon for 2019 has made a confounding carousel as CAF has now recommended that Cameroon may have the 2021 release, which was initially given to Ivory Coast who might, thus, supplant Guinea as hosts of 2023. 

The Ivorians reacted indignantly this week, saying that "nobody in the league has been reached or drawn closer by CAF."
