EFCC Denies Raiding Atiku’s Sons’ Home

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday prevented looking through the lofts from claiming the children of the Presidential hopeful of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. 

Representative for Atiku, Paul Ibe, had affirmed that agents of the EFCC struck the lofts of Aliyu and Mustapha. 

Ibe affirmed that the counter join organization led the inquiry on Saturday, saying they don't discovered anything implicating on the PDP applicant's children. 

In any case, the EFCC expelled the allegations. 

The commission stated: "The ongoing capture of Ogbonna Orji, child of Sen. Theodore Orji, over illegal tax avoidance, has literally nothing to do with the child of ex-VP Atiku Abubakar. 

"The previous Abia senator has been under examinations by the EFCC, for tax evasion exercises, which was found to have been brought out through his children. 

"The EFCC had been on the trail of autos supposedly purchased by the children, and last Friday the vehicles were followed to a club in Abuja, where agents held up calmly during that time to capture the proprietors – Ogbonna and his companion, Kelvin Ilonah. 

"They were captured at around 5 am on Saturday, and they drove agents to their three-level loft, where records recovered demonstrated that it was leased at a rate of N13million for each annum. 

"They have so far given valuable data to the EFCC, which is helping in examinations. 

"It ought to be clarified that the EFCC never "pursued" Atiku's children, nor was Atiku's child captured by the EFCC."
