Asuu Strike: Lecturers Give FG Condition To Resume Work

The Academic Staff Union of Universities is requesting that administration demonstrate verification of installment of in any event N50 billion revitalisation before it could consider suspending the on-going strike.

Asuu President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, revealed this to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan in front of the association's gathering with the Federal Government on Monday.

Ogunyemi included that Asuu had said just solid proof of execution by the legislature would make its individuals come back to the classrooms.

He expressed that Asuu had rejected government's proposition to pay N20 billion out of two tranches on the revitalisation of colleges and asked the administration to standard the earned scholastic recompenses into the 2019 spending plan before National Assembly.

The Asuu President lamented that "Nigeria's decision class does not consider training to be need but rather want to make new instruction states of private instructive organizations which can't address the issues of the Nigerian kids.

"We need them to pay quickly N50 billion as an indication of responsibility this quarter and for the following seventy five percent, government can pay N50 billion in each quarter.

"Our individuals have rejected the N20 billion proposed by the administration, which it guaranteed to spread more than two quarters in 2019.

"Our individuals have demanded the arrival of at any rate N50 billion in connection to earned scholastic remittances which the legislature has an extraordinary of N105 billion.

"Our individuals are stating that regardless of whether the administration is discharging N20 billion, let it be expressed unmistakably that it is just for Asuu individuals.
