NLC rejects N27,000 minimum wage

The Nigeria Labor Congress has rejected the N27,000 new national the lowest pay permitted by law received by the National Council of States on Tuesday.

The NLC Secretary-General, Dr. Diminish Ozo-Eson, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

As per him, the chamber has no ward deciding another sum after a Tripartite Committee had presented its report.

"It is appalling of government to postpone the accommodation of an Executive Bill to the National Assembly and by unfairly embracing N27,000 through the board of states," he said.

In any case, Ozo-Eson said the NLC has booked a crisis National Executive Council meeting for Friday to burden the due date given to government inside which to present an official bill to the National Assembly.

The NLC copyist included that the Federal Government was just anticipating a shutdown of the economy with its most recent activity.

"This is on the grounds that laborers ought not be considered in charge of any advancement after its NEC meeting on Friday,'' he said.
