Caf Announce 2025 Afcon Host Nation

The Confederation of African Football (Caf) have named Guinea as hosts of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations rather than the 2023 version.

Caf President Ahmad said this on Monday in the wake of meeting with the west African nation's President Alpha Conde.

Ahmad included that Ivory Coast will presently have the competition in 2023.

"I am pleased with this adjustment in the association of the date-book that will see the Nations Cup occur in Guinea in 2025 and I am glad that the leader of Guinea, Alpha Conde, has himself acknowledged," Ahmad said.

Ahmad told correspondents it was a comparable circumstance to Cameroon, which will organize the 2021 competition having been deprived of facilitating the current year's release.

Following the choice to expel the current year's release from Cameroon as a result of extreme postponements in building arenas and security concerns, Egypt and South Africa have offered to venture in as hosts.

Caf will report on Wednesday which of the two nations has won the privilege to have the competition, with the clock ticking to the June 15 kickoff.
