Ten travelers and a driver were captured by an associated gathering with conceal shooters on Wednesday in Rivers State.
It was found out that a white Toyota Sienna SUV, making a trip to Port Harcourt from Abua in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, was trapped by the suspected shooters.
As per reports, the travelers were hailed by their abductors at the Rumuekpe intersection along the East-West Road in the Emohua zone of the state.
An onlooker revealed to Punch that the shooters left a close-by timberland, shot into the air and removed the 10 travelers in the vehicle and the driver.
He stated, "Some young fellows, early toward the beginning of today, left the bramble with weapons at the Rumuekpe intersection along the East-West Road in the Emohua Local Government Area and hindered a Toyota Sienna SUV passing on 10 travelers.
"They discharged a few shots into the air before seizing every one of the travelers in the vehicle just as the driver. The unfortunate casualties were taken into the shrubbery, while the vehicle was surrendered out and about."
A driver, who handles the East-West Road, said the vehicle that passed on the captured unfortunate casualties was still on the expressway.
He expressed, "The white Toyota Sienna, which passed on the hijacked people, is deserted out and about; I saw it first around 9 am and by around 11 am the point at which I go there once more, despite everything I saw it.
"I know the driver; we call him Star. After we caught wind of the occurrence, we have been going around calling his kin just as other people who can help. I am petitioning God for him and the travelers' opportunity as well."
In the interim, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said he had not been advised about the occurrence.
"I have not yet got data about this episode, yet once I get the subtleties, I will hit you up," he said.
