President Muhammadu Buhari has gaffed again by saying that he came into office as the nation's chief in 2005 rather than 2015.

Buhari said this in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Tuesday amid the presidential crusade rally of the decision All Progressives Congress (APC).

"Recognized women and men of their word, there is not really anything new that I can let you know," the president said.

"I am exceptionally satisfied the Vice President (Yemi Osinbajo) is here and the Chairman of the National Economic Commission [sic] has let you know in detail what we are doing, particularly that influences your state.

"I guarantee you what the Minister of Transportation said — Amaechi — on the grounds that he's in control. He disclosed to you what we're doing about the railroads from Lagos to Kano through the states along the Nile; that we're exceptionally aware of the guarantees we made when we came in 2005."
