29 Killed In Fresh Zamfara Attack

Police in Zamfara state say 29 people have lost their lives following assaults by associated brigands in Shinkafi zone with the northwest state.

As per police, they (the people in question) were assaulted by the crooks in a caravan of vehicles passing on merchants from Shinkafi advertise on their way back to Kwari town in Shinkafi on February 28.

"On 28th February, 2019 at about 2345hrs, a divisional cop (DPO) responsible for Shinkafi got a pain consider that on a similar date that vehicles passing on brokers from Shinkafi to Kwari town were trapped by speculated outfitted highwaymen while returning from SHINKAFI Market," representative for the police in the state, Muhammad Shehu, disclosed to Premium Times.

"The police immediately reacted by driving a Joint group of PMF/CTU and Military to the scene of the occurrence with the end goal of determining the validness of the report and make a move that will reestablish regularity in the region and its environs and further capture the culprits of the obnoxious demonstration."

As indicated by him, on getting to the scene, 13 cadavers were found, while 16 different carcasses, for the most part individuals from regular citizen JTF, were later found littered as the encompassing hedge was brushed by the joint security agents.
