Deportation: Nigeria, Ghana Agencies In Reconciliatory Talks

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Ghana Immigration Service have started reconciliatory talks over the ongoing expelling of four Ghanaian nationals by Nigerian expert.

Succinct News reports that NIS Public Relations Officer, Sunday James, made this known in a press explanation on Saturday.

He said the Comptroller-General of NIS, Muhammad Babandede, had facilitated the Comptroller-General of Ghana Immigration Service, Kwame Takyi, joined by the Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa.

"The gathering, which held in secret, had all the earmarks of being a placating gathering following the extradition of four Ghanaian nationals from Nigeria to Ghana," the announcement read.

"Babandede, when reached, affirmed the gathering saying subtleties of a further gathering was being worked out by the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs of Nigeria and Ghana.

"There is no reason to worry as the two nations will settle issues between the two nations strategically."

Pastor of inside Lt.- Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) had approved the expulsion request of the four Ghanaian nationals over supposed infringement of arrangements of the Immigration Act and Regulations.

"This is in accordance with the forces vested on the Minister of Interior in Section 45(1) and (2) of the Immigration Act 2015,″ James said.

The visit comes seven days after Nigeria expelled four Ghanaians to Accra.

A month sooner, Nigeria had dissented mass expelling of no less than 723 of its natives among 2018 and February 2019. The Nigerians were blamed for unlawful remain, digital wrongdoing, prostitution and other social indecencies.

Eighty-one Nigerians were extradited on asserted digital wrongdoing and unlawful remain in January, while 115 have so far been expelled in February on the claim of outstay and prostitution.

NAN reports that Nigerian envoy to Ghana, Michael Abikoye, firmly challenged the activity to the Ghanaian government in Accra.

Nigeria's complaint to the expulsion of its residents from Ghana and inability to openly express the offenses of the four expelled Ghanaians had filled theory that the March 22 choice may have been done in countering.
