Rivers State Election: INEC Suspends All Electoral Processes, See Why

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended appointive procedures in Rivers state because of savagery.

Brief News reports that Festus Okoye, chief of data and voter training board of trustees, says reports from its authorities on the field showS that the decision was damaged by broad disturbance.

He says numerous authorities of the commission were held prisoner while constituent materials were seized.

"These underlying reports propose that brutality happened in a considerable number of surveying units and grouping focuses," the announcement peruses.

"Staff have been kidnapped and materials including result sheets have either been seized or obliterated by unapproved people.

"Moreover, the security of our staff has all the earmarks of being in danger everywhere throughout the state and the Commission is worried about the believability of the procedure.

"Subsequently, at a gathering hung on tenth March 2019, the Commission has chosen to suspend every single appointive procedure in the State until further notice. This is in accordance with Section 26 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as corrected) and Clause 47 (e) of the Regulations and Guidelines of the Commission."
