200 level student shot dead while struggling with armed robbers who wanted to snatch his phone

A 200 dimension understudy of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) distinguished as Emem Jimmy, was shot dead by famous telephone snatchers amid the end of the week.

Jimmy, a political theory major of the college was shot dead along Wilson Idiong road, near the Obio Akpa grounds of the University in Oruk Anam neighborhood government zone of the state.

As indicated by onlooker report, the expired endeavored to oppose the obscure shooters from grabbing his telephone before he was shot dead.

The Head, Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the University, Mr Akaninyene Ibanga, who affirmed the episode, said the unfortunate casualty kicked the bucket however he was promptly hurried to the emergency clinic for treatment.

An announcement from the Ibanga read;

"Late Emem was shot between the long stretches of 8.30 – 9pm at Wilson Idiong Street, off Ikot Okoro Road, Obioakpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area trying to oppose obscure shooters from grabbing his telephone. He was surged quickly to the medical clinic for treatment which the University Management assumed control over the emergency clinic charges just to spare his life yet on Saturday late Emem couldn't endure the battle with death, so he at last passed on at about 12.30pm."
