Man Who Beat Wife To Death Over Sex Remanded

Godspower Johnson, 31, who supposedly beat his better half to death amid a battle about sex, has been remanded.

The suspect was remanded by a main justices' court in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, on Friday.

The directing Chief Magistrate O. O. Olatunji, requested that Godspower be kept at the Ikoyi Prison for the following 30 days pending when the case record would be sent to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for counsel.

Amid the arraignment, the investigator, Inspector Oladele Adebayo, told the court that the litigant submitted the offense on March 21, 2019 at 5.30pm on Adekoye Street, Igbo-Elerin, Ishashi, where the couple lived.

He asserted that Johnson beat his better half, Deborah, matured 31, to death amid a battle.

"The respondent needed to have intercourse to his better half. He embedded his two fingers into her private part which turned out poorly well with the perished. A battle followed all the while and the litigant beat up his significant other," Adebayo said.

Reports had it that the offense contradicted the arrangements of Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Olatunji dismissed the case until June 7, 2019, for notice.
