Politicians trust Babalawos more than Security officials – DSS Director General

The Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, has said that most lawmakers, especially state governors, don't confide in security authorities and would prefer to go to mystics and local specialists also called Babalawos for assurance.

Bichi said this when he talked at the retreat for approaching governors composed by the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) that held in Abuja on Monday April 29th.

"I joke with legislators that you individuals trust the marabouts and babalawos more. When somebody reveals to you nothing will happen to your seat and it occurs, you simply believe that individual in all emergency." he said

He said there was no absence of Intellegence in the nation but instead an absence of will to battle the security challenges.

As indicated by Bichi, a portion of the security challenges in Nigeria is because of numerous legislators' doubt of security authorities.
