When is the draw for the main Champions League knockout stage? Who is included? How can it work?
When is it?
The draw happens at UEFA home office in Nyon, Switzerland, on Monday 16 December. The live stream will start here at 12:00 CET.

The draw includes the eight gathering champs (seeded) and eight other participants (unseeded):

Liverpool (ENG, holders: Group E)
Manchester City (ENG: Group C)

How does the draw work?
The seeded groups are at home in the subsequent legs.
No group can play a club from their UEFA Champions League group or a side from a similar national affiliation.
Further limitations will be affirmed before the draw.
When do ties occur?
The first legs are planned for 18, 19, 25 and 26 February, with the second legs on 10, 11, 17 and 18 March. Kick-offs are at 21:00 CET. The draw for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final is on 20 March.
