Arsenal Head Coach Mikel Arteta says David Luiz is a "key good example" and expectations the Brazilian safeguard will broaden his agreement at the Premier League club past this season.
Luiz joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea on a one-year bargain in August, yet the Gunners look set to expand that by a further a year regardless of enthusiasm from Benfica.
"I'm extremely content with David, I need to keep him here with us. He's been a key good example since I joined," Arteta said at a news meeting in front of Wednesday's down against Manchester City.
"I like what he delivers on the pitch, I like his impact around the players and the club - I couldn't want anything more than to keep him."
