Harry Kane doesn't fit in Jose Mourinho's protective framework, trusts Paul Merson, who says the England skipper will "truly think" about his future.
The 26-year-old looked a detached figure as Tottenham continued their Premier League battle with a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
What's more, Merson trusts Kane's objective count will endure because of Mourinho's strategies.
"When Jose accepted the position I stressed for Harry Kane," Merson revealed to Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday. "He played under [Mauricio] Pochettino and Tottenham had a go any place they went.
He included: "I think he'll have a genuine think toward the finish of the period. I don't see him getting 25, 30 objectives next season the way Jose will need to play.
"Also, he [Mourinho] won't have any desire to play as he did when he previously got in there - 4-2s and 5-3s, no chance! He'll like the games like the previous evening, the 1-1s."
