West Ham have finished the marking of Vladimir Coufal from Slavia Prague.
The protector joins the Hammers on an underlying three-year contract, with a possibility for that arrangement to be stretched out by a further two years.
"I'm extremely cheerful I am important for the West Ham family," said Coufal, who will wear the No5 shirt in the wake of putting pen to paper at the club's Rush Green preparing ground on Thursday night. "I will do everything with the goal that West Ham will be fruitful.
"I think about the intrigue West Ham had in me for quite a while yet now at last I am here and I am so glad.
"Tomas (Soucek) let me know on the best things, that it's a decent arena with great fans and flawless partners and staff. Tomas is my excellent companion and I trust he will help me here."
