NAPS FROWNS AT SECOND WAVE LOCKDOWN OF SCHOOLS, CALL ON PTF FOR ALTERNATIVE PREVENTION.

NAPS FROWNS AT SECOND WAVE LOCKDOWN OF SCHOOLS, CALL ON PTF FOR ALTERNATIVE PREVENTION.

The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students has expressed total displeasure on plan of proposed re- closure of schools by the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19.

It should be remembered that the last year was a boring year in educational sector of Nigerian daily activities as all schools, ranging from the Basic classes to the Tertiary levels were closed down by the Federal Government through the presidential task force on COVID -19 in preventing a further outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus.

We regret the emergence of another wave of this deadly Coronavirus claiming lives and affecting the National economy, it's not a good time to witness this again in Nigeria as the masses are even yet to recover from the syndrome of the  previous lockdown.

We therefore call on the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 to gather experts and technical advisers in making a better alternative to preventing this second lockdown against Coronavirus and constitute a well trained task force to enforce total compliance and adherence to the preventive measures.

We believe this will be more beneficial to Nigerians than considering another lockdown as proposed. Anywhere the school gates are closed, opens the gate to prison.

May we overcome this trying time too.  Let's stay safe and stay alive.

God bless Nigeria.

Signed:

Comrade Olalere Benedict

The Global President

National Association Of Polytechnic Students (NAPS)
