A Cry for Help: PNM Calls for Immediate Protection for Mrs. Susan Sophia Ogunremi

The Patriotic Now Movement (PNM) expresses deep concern over the repeated and life-threatening attacks on Mrs. Susan Sophia Ogunremi, a Nigerian woman whose ordeal reflects the growing insecurity and vulnerability faced by innocent citizens across the country. Her situation demands urgent government attention and decisive action from security agencies.

According to verified accounts, Mrs. Ogunremi’s family has suffered years of targeted assaults allegedly carried out by suspected cult groups. Their nightmare began in Sagamu, Ogun State, where the Eiye Confraternity was reported to have attacked and killed her husband’s parents and younger brother. This tragic incident forced the family to flee their home in 2022,  in Lagos State.

However, the family’s relocation did not guarantee safety. On 13th April 2022, they were again attacked along the Igbogbo-Bayeku Road in Ikorodu, Lagos State, by suspected cult boys who reportedly trailed them. This second attack heightened their fear and compelled her husband to relocate abroad in search of personal safety and stability.

Despite all efforts to live quietly, the nightmare resurfaced. On 8th November 2025, Mrs. Ogunremi was assaulted once more, this time in Shomolu, Lagos State, where she sustained a painful shoulder injury. The recurring nature of these attacks, across different locations and years, strongly suggests that her life remains in danger and that she may still be under targeted surveillance.

The Patriotic Now Movement finds this situation deeply troubling and unacceptable. No Nigerian should be left unprotected while facing such persistent harassment and life-threatening attacks. Mrs. Ogunremi’s case underscores the urgent need for stronger intelligence gathering, faster security response, and coordinated efforts to dismantle violent cult networks across the country.

In light of these developments, PNM calls on the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Lagos and Ogun State Governments to immediately intervene. We urge them to launch a full investigation into the attacks, provide adequate protection for Mrs. Ogunremi, and ensure that those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted without delay.

PNM also appeals to human rights organisations, civil society groups, and community leaders to lend their voices to this matter and stand in solidarity with all Nigerians who face similar threats but lack the resources or platform to speak out. Protecting vulnerable citizens is not only a constitutional duty, it is a moral responsibility.

The Patriotic Now Movement reaffirms its commitment to justice, safety, and the protection of all Nigerians. We insist that every citizen has the right to live without fear, and we will continue to advocate until cases like this receive the attention and action they deserve.
