Nationwide outrage over recent petrol price hike

Nigerians have expressed widespread frustration following the recent increase in fuel prices.

According to reports by DAILY POST, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has raised the price of premium motor spirit (PMS) for the second time in just four days.

On Saturday, the state-owned company adjusted the price from N960 to N967 per liter, marking a N7 per liter increase.

The new fuel price has already been implemented at NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and its surrounding areas, sparking reactions from motorists and consumers across the country.

Speaking to DAILY POST, Darlington Ebube, a resident in Abuja, expressed displeasure over the hike in fuel prices, questioning the reason behind the hike.

In his words “ I don’t even know why they increased it like this. How is it that fuel now is one thousand plus, and it’s going to be hard now because both transport to go out will increase and the condition of this country will just get worse. The funny thing is if fuel increases everything increases.”

Other Nigerians on social media also expressed their frustration over the increase. @ADESNUR said, Why the sudden inflation, why the sudden cost?
