Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, accusing them of “shocking insensitivity” amid the ongoing abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.


Atiku, reacting to reports of political celebrations and events linked to the First Lady (including Children’s Day messages), stated: “A true mother does not celebrate while her children are missing.”


He condemned the government’s continued political engagements, distribution of gifts, and lavish displays while families of the abducted pupils (kidnapped on May 15, 2026) remain in agony nearly three weeks later. 


Peter Obi also joined in criticizing the administration’s response to recurring school abductions.
