Why We Invaded Dino Melaye’s Home – Police

The Nigerian Police on Friday affirmed that they laid attack to the home of Senator Dino Melaye (PDP-Kogi West) to capture him for supposed endeavored murder. 

A cop, Sgt Danjuma Saliu, was claimed to have been shot while on obligation by the representative and his furnished hooligans on July 19 in Kogi state. 


In an announcement, the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said that Melaye was being captured to reply to the instance of endeavored at fault manslaughter. 

He stated: "The Police Officer (Saliu) is yet to recuperate from the shot damage he continued amid the assault and still under concentrated restorative consideration. 

"The Police examiners have composed the Clerk of the National Assembly for Senator Dino Melaye to report at Kogi State Police Command, CIID, Lokoja for him to reply to these offenses against him under scrutiny in Kogi State Police Command yet he has obtusely declined to report himself to the Police. 

"The Police agents will keep on being in hold up at the home of Senator Dino Melaye until the point when he surrenders himself for capture. 

"The offense for which Senator Dino Melaye is being examined is capital in nature and not compoundable. 

"The Force won't endure an assault on his staff by any individual regardless of how very put. The law must follow all the way through. 

"Individuals from general society will be kept educated on further advancement in the examination of the issue."
