Osun Governorship Election: Appeal Court Upholds Oyetola’s Victory

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has put aside the judgment of the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal which invalidated the triumph of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Conveying the lead judgment on Thursday, Justice Hannatu Sankey put aside the whole procedures of the Tribunal in view of its "broken creation".

The judgment of the investigative court was maintained by four judges of the five-man board.

Succinct News had detailed that the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja had proclaimed Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the champ of the 2018 governorship decision in the state.

It held that the applicant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gboyega Oyetola, was not legitimately returned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
