President Buhari Extends Emefiele’s Tenure As CBN Governor

President Muhammadu Buhari has re-delegated the Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

The letter for his re-arrangement was sent to the Senate on Wednesday and President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read the letter on the floor in a matter of seconds before the whole was deferred.

Emefiele, whose residency lapses on June 2, 2019, was first selected by previous President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 and was held after Buhari expected office in 2015.

It is the first run through since 1999, when Nigeria came back to vote based system, that anybody would be designated to serve two terms as CBN senator.
